We Will Sing You Home
In the spring-time of your life we will sing you home.
When you open your eyes for the first time, when you take your first steps, we will sing,
We will sing you home.
In the summer of your life we will sing you home.
When you first start to sing your own melody, when it’s time to step out on your own,
when you find your true love, we will sing,
We will sing you home.
In the autumn of your life, we will sing you home.
In your laughter and joys, we will sing, in your sorrows and tears we will sing,
When the weight of the world’s on your shoulders, we will sing,
We will sing you home.
In the winter of your life we will sing you home.
When you gather your loved ones around you, and you look to the path that’s behind you,
when it’s time for farewell and remember me, we will sing,
We will sing you home.
Dedicated to Kornelius Epp
Kornelius Epp Junior was passionate about life and living fully. This included a deep appreciation for the arts and music. He himself played guitar, accordion and some piano. As well, he sang a beautiful tenor. He delighted in music that connects to the soul, enthusiastically encouraging the composers who create it and the musicians who performe it, including both Timothy Corlis and the Richmond Youth Honour Choirs. His spirit was one that would always sing you home.
