“For A Song” is an ideal choral piece for children, with its uplifting message, melody and accessible harmonies. The inspiration for this song came from the privilege of being a music teacher and finding time in the school day to share the joy of choral singing with my students. Music builds confidence and creates lasting connections between students of varied interests and diverse backgrounds. It enriches all students’ education and broadens their daily perspectives in creative and empathetic ways. School boards that value and invest in quality music programs invest in kids, and it’s a bargain in the long run. Using music education to help prepare kids for a better tomorrow can be achieved, “For a Song.”
