“Go, And Be Light” was written in the spring of 2021 for the First United Church Choir and congregation, where Chris and Valerie worked and were in a collaborative partnership for over a decade. This piece speaks of comfort and hope, but also offers a challenge for people to make a difference in the lives of others, and to find peace and common ground in an increasingly fractured world.
Go, and be light that shines through darkness.
Go, and share hope where none is found.
Go, and step out amidst uncertainty
and strive for some common ground.
Go, and reach out your hands for healing.
Go, use your voice to speak of peace.
Go and spread justice in your words and ways,
and may kindness, through love increase.
Go, and be light!
